The Boston Tea Party

The Boston tea party was a direct action that happened in the Boston port on the night of the 16 of December it considers as one of causes for the beginning of the American war of independence.

In 1773 the British Parliament reduced the shipping taxes for tea and others for the citizens of Great Britain but continued to collect the same taxes as before from the settlers of the colonies of America.

The Sons Of Liberty an organization which fought England for the liberty of the colonies and most of the citizens of the colonies in America rejected of this act because there was no representative of them in the British parliament so they couldn't do anything about it.

On November 3rd 1773, Britain cargo ships arrived at the Boston port to unload a big load of tea. The settlers of the American colonies resisted the big tea taxes and prevented the unloading of the ships; the British governor of Boston forced the colony to pay taxes for the unloaded ships that have stayed in the port.       The Sons Of Liberty and other people who objected the taxes didn't agree to pay the taxes and fought for it. The fight reached its peak on the night of December 16; when some of Boston's citizens and Sons Of Liberty arrived to the port, dressed as native Americans, got on the boats and threw all of the expensive tea load to the ocean.

This event was named "the Boston tea party".

The Boston tea party was and still is revolutionary because it was the starter of the American independence war; was a part of a bigger process that made America an independent country, the Americans declared independence without any England's control.

The importance of it is undeniable. The colonists may not have had reason to go to war had it not been for the Parliament’s taxes. It was the resulting war that ultimately gave US all the freedoms that the country cherishes today.

It was an act that symbolized courage, it showed the first step of the Americans

to rebel, to show their desire for an autonomous country and fight for.

The Boston Tea Party was and still is one of the most important mile stones of America's way for independent and it becoming to the big strong America it is today!
